This session will focus on the follow-up to one of the key recommendations from the Valuing our Life Support Systems 2014 Summit on partnerships for land and water management: “Wholescape thinking: towards integrating the management of catchments, coast and the sea through partnership working.”
A summary presentation of the Wholescapes Guidance will be followed by brief statements from a panel comprising representatives of key potential delivery agencies. The debate will then open up to the audience to discuss the practicalities of implementation, including leadership, policy, finance, law and natural capital science. Conclusions will be summarised as the essential messages to government, NGOs, local community representatives and businesses, which will enable the innovations necessary to achieve practical implementation of a more joined-up approach to environmental management to enhance human well-being.
